My copies of Chrono Crusade volume 6 & 7 arrived from Digital Eyes on the 6th and I immediately popped them in to watch. Late publishing my thoughts here though.
For the ending with Chrono and Rosette, it was kind of what I'd been expecting from the get go, but it would have been nice to at least have them share a little kiss or something before they died. Their not going to see Joshua didn't bother me too much. After all they had sacrificed for the world, I figured they were entitled to be selfish for their last moments of life and just be together for awhile. Besides, I think Rosette was able to go without seeing him because she knew he was going to be alright now.
Remington being a useless angel was interesting. I'm guessing his purpose was supposed to be that of watcher over Rosette or something, though not a very good one since he wasn't given enough power to do much of anything (though he did save Az at least). The last scene with him watching helplessly during the reborn Aion's assassintation attempt on the Pope after his fall from grace was kind of sad. It would be interesting to see if Remington ever forgives god for what happened.
Satella and her sister was sad, though it was nice to see Fiore remember who she really was in that last second before dying. Steiner's death was one of the worse, though, because it wasn't really expected. I'd imagine that if I hadn't been spoilered that he was going to die, I'd have been even more shocked. But even knowing he was going to die, I didn't think it would be like that.
All in all, the last volume made me cry like a baby but it was very good. I can't wait to see how the manga handles things, since it has gone off in a completely different direction as of volume 5 (and from spoilers I read, it ends much differently).
As for last week, I rewatched Koi Kaze, a story of an incestous romance handled in a serious and mature manner with no safety net (i.e. usually in such stories the characters find out later they aren't really siblings or something, but not here). Spent the weekend rewatching Wolf's Rain. Made it through the first five volumes. Tonight I will have a boo hoo fest by finally watching volume's 6 & 7.
Now I'm just waiting for Amazon to put Cardcaptor Sakura Clow Book 2 (being released in November!) up for preordering. I preordered Book 1 from them and got a nice little savings of $5 over them (and even DDD). My Pretear Collection should arrive today (along with TJ Hooker Season 1), so lots to watch.
Next up from Netflix will be the two disk Sentimental Journey, followed by Gungrave (sort off...looks like Netflix skipped both Sentimental Journey disks and is sending my Gungrave 1 in one slot...grrr).
