4Kids the crappiest anime licensor ever has announced that they will be massacring Pretty Cure next.  As always, can hope they might eventually go for a DVD release that includes the original, unedited Japanese versions, but don't hold your breath on it.  At least its one series I won't have to worry about finding room for in my budget...but

On the good news side, its been confirmed that Viz has subtitled the songs in Full Moon.  Woo hoo!  Now I just get to wait 3-4 years for a box set to come out. *sigh*  Also, Be Beautiful has announced that is has the license for the Embracing Love DVD!  Yeah!  I'll grab that one shortly after its released.

ADV has announced its license for Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai (This Ugly Yet Beautiful World).  I only vaguely remember KonoMiki but glad to see it licensed (for some reason I thought it already was though LOL). I'll definitely be renting it, if nothing else...dont' remember it well enough to know if I want to buy yet. I do remember that I loved the opening theme and listen to it regularly.

FUNimation has announced that it does indeed have the Fullmetal Alchemist Movie (not a huge surprise, but great for Fullmetal fans).  They will also be releasing it to coincide with the release of the last volume of the series (and speeding up the release of the series), so doubly good news for the Fullmetal Alchemist fans.  I really should get around to watching all of it one day, I did enjoy the few eps I saw before it was licensed.

FUNimation has announced the license for Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, which will be called by it's official English name as seen on the games and more in Japan as Rumbling Hearts. Volume 1 will be released in October 2006.

FUNimation also announced they will be moving to a monthly schedule (4~5 weeks) for numerous new anime, including Desert Punk (as of volume 2), Negima, Moon Phase and Rumbling Hearts. Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood and Basilisk will be released every 7 weeks. The release schedule will be based on the manner in which FUNimation receives the episodes.

I'm sure there will be a lot of fans happy over this announcement, since it seems to be a popular show.  I never really liked it much myself, though.  I hated Mitsuki and Takayuki.  Most of the characters really. 

Viz has finally done an official press release about the Full Moon wo Sagashite DVD.  Each volume will be released quarterly with volume 1 have 4 episodes.  Yep, just 4 episodes.  Since Full Moon is a 52 episode series, that means the last volume will not be released until Summer 2009....that's THREE YEARS I'll have to wait before the whole thing is out, then probably another year or two before a more sensible box set is released (because I'm not buying 13 volumes).  Some folks area already speculating that Viz is setting it up to fail because shojo anime already has a tough time in the market as it is, then to do something like that? Ugh.  Also a little scary to see that their press release does not really give an accurate summary of the story.

Come on Viz...do this right!  People have waited years for this series.  You gave the manga a kick ass release schedule and treatment, why not do its anime the same way?

On the good side, a preview of it in the form of the entire 1st episode will be attached to the June Shojo Beat issue, so we'll get to see if they did it right (and if they subbed the songs or if they are totally screwing it up).

According to a report at AWN, during NATPE Viz has now confirmed the previously leaked announcement that they have the license for Full Moon wo Sagashite!  Woo hoo!  Other titles they announced are Mar, Zoids Genesis, Prince of Tennis, Grandpa Danger and Croket, but Full Moon is the only one of interest to me.  Now here is hoping it gets a Marmalade Boy style release with the first volume coming in June like the sneaked announcement mentioned.  Let's celebrate!

And now all that's left is someone to license the Kamikize Kaitoue Jeanne anime.  If Full Moon can do it, so can Jeanne!  Please???

Oh, and hope y'all like the slight redesign I did in here to clean up the right side bar some (notice the category list is now in the left menu under Animania), and the RSS feeds are a little easier to find.  Also replaced some icons with smaller nicer ones with possible and added a section of favorite suppliers of anime and manga.

Loveless was announced as coming to DVD awhile back.  When Media Blasters later announced it would be subtitled only (which is fine with me, I hate dubs).  The subtitling only seems to have made it much easier for them to get it out because the 3 volumes are being released Feb 14, March 28th, and April 28th.  I've already got all three preordered from Amazon which had them marked down from the MSRP of $19.99 to $13.99.  DeepDiscountDVD has them for $12, but with Amazon I get free 2 day shipping thanks to the prime trial. :D

I also have the first volume of the Loveless manga preordered via eCampus.  Hopefully it will go past where the anime stops so I can find out the end of the story LOL.
